Optical Document Security II - An Overview
The 2010 Conference on Optical Document Security was held on 20 - 22 January 2010 in San Francisco. The conference was attended by a record 250 delegates, and 28 papers were presented in 30 minute time slots.

Optical Document Security – the follow-up to the biannual Conference on Optical Security and Counterfeit Deterrence Techniques focuses on technical and scientific developments in optical security for valuable documents and products. The conference offers a platform to researchers, developers, manufacturers and users of security to present their findings, new work and new techniques on a technical and scientific level. Some of the most significant developments in banknote and identity document security and production technology in recent years have been first described in public at these conferences and will this tradition will be continued.
Participants in Optical Document Security will be vetted in advance so that only those with a legitimate interest in the topic will be registered, and only registered badge holders will be allowed into the conference rooms, adding a level of confidentiality not possible at Optical Security and Counterfeit Deterrence Techniques.
Submissions for papers are now invited. Papers should address optical methods to improve the security of banknotes, tax stamps, ID documents, bank and other financial documents, as well as manufactured goods, OEM components, software and entertainment. This includes the use of biometrics and ways to tie a person to an ID document or a product to its packaging. Specific topics of interest include:
By submitting a proposal you agree to meet the following deadlines:
500-word abstracts of proposed papers on these and related topics should be sent by email to the Conference Committee, with a brief biography of the proposed presenter. The abstract should clearly explain what new insights and/or developments will be presented.
All abstracts must also provide full author and affiliation contact details.
Typescripts of your paper will be required by 30 November 2009, with a 150-200 word summary for publication in the delegate materials. Slide presentations are not acceptable.

The conference will include an informal evening Topical Exhibit and Poster Session on real-world security problems and solutions. This exhibit is an occasion for all conference participants to show their results in an informal ambience and this event has always been a very lively event!
Tables will be made available for all participants that subscribe, at a particularly low fee. Please consider taking part in this event.
